St.Theresa’s team of staff are highly and appropriately trained for their various positions.  We believe that regular on-going Training and Up-skilling is an integral and inherent dimension to maintaining our excellent standards of care for all our residents.  St Theresa’s Nursing Home prides itself on the friendly courteous staff, and their empathy with the needs of those in their care.

The Cooks are very competent in their Kitchen, with many years experience of producing nutritious meals!  They have completed the Food Hygiene course.  They ensure they know each residents’ ‘likes & dislikes’ and endeavour to satisfy all dietary requests.   The Cooks also lead a ‘Baking’ activity, for those interested, as part of the Activity Programme.

Many staff are involved in leading or assisting in many of the Activities; singing, dancing, conversation, Beauty Treatments, Gentle Exercise etc.  This enables the residents to become more familiar with the staff and feel more at ease and at home within St Theresa’s.

All staff receive training for the following on a regular basis; Fire Safety & emergency procedures;  Health &Safety procedures; Manual Handling training; CPR/AED; and modules on Elder Abuse and Challenging Behaviour.
