‘Fair Deal’ – Nursing Home Support Scheme

St.Theresa’s Nursing Home is approved to facilitate those residents who have applied for the Nursing Home Support Scheme – ‘Fair Deal’.  Our Administrator is happy to clarify any queries in relation to the application process.

We appreciate the anxiety that surrounds the on-going cost of Nursing Home care, particularly for those in Long Term Care.  The Matron is always happy to discuss each individual case and ensure, where possible, continuity of care for the resident.

Private Health Insurance

For those who have Private Health Insurance and are looking for Post-Operative Convalescence, St Theresa’s Nursing Home is approved specifically with VHI and VIVAS Health.  Some Health Insurance Companies may approve applications for convalescence on application by the Policy holder.

It is important to note that the person seeking Post Operative Convalescence comes to the Nursing Home directly after being discharged from Hospital.  Usually the convalescent period allowed for is two weeks.  Policy holders should check such details with his or her own Health Provider in advance.

Note that Private Health Insurance companies do not cover patients requiring convalescence coming from their home environment.
The Health Insurance Company indicate a Daily Rate payable, which is dependent on the particular Health Plan of the potential resident.  The resident is responsible for paying the nursing home in full.  Then, on receipt of the Nursing Home invoice from the resident [or policy holder], the Health Insurance Company forwards the appropriate reimbursement.  The amount received depends on the health plan of the resident [policy holder].
We advise any potential resident seeking post-operative convalescence at St Theresa’s to be fully informed of their cover in advance of Admission.
